4 Ways to Change your Skincare Routine from Winter to Spring
As April approaches, the weather is slowly warming up again. You hear birds chirping off the distance and see flower buds finally blooming. It is the sign that spring is here. What else does that mean? It’s time to transition your skincare routine from winter to spring!
The spring season entails warmer climate, higher humidity and sunnier days. Here are some ways to change up your skincare routine for healthier, glowier skin during this seasonal change.
1. Change to a Lighter Cleanser
Cold weather strips away our skin’s natural moisture barrier, which is why we tend to use thicker, moisturizing cleansers during the winter season. Due to the weather change, opt for a more gentle and light-weight cleanser. We recommend using foamy, water based facial cleansers or gel cleansers.
Our Recommendation: Facial Washing Powder - Leo Lionni Edition
This innovative cleansing powder turns into a rich, dense foam more quickly and easily by adding water. Formulated with Agar and Rice Starch to gently lift off dirt and impurities while diminishing clogged pores without irritating the skin.
2. Exfoliate 2-3 times a Week
The cold winter season can sometimes make our skin feel and look a bit dull. If you don't already, it’s important to exfoliate 2-3 times a week to get rid of dead skin cells and brighten your complexion. We highly recommend using a gentle exfoliator like Cure Natural Aqua Gel. Avoid harsh exfoliator as it can give out the adverse effect and cause unevenness to your skin.
3. Replace Face Creams for a Gel Moisturizer
With the seasonal change in both temperature and humidity, using rich moisturizing creams can cause your skin to be too oily, therefore leading to breakouts. Instead, use gel based moisturizer with a higher water content to help keep your skin moisturized without the heaviness. The Naturie Skin Conditioning Gel does just that! It is a lightweight hydrating gel moisturizer formulated with Job's Tears (Hatomugi) that soothe, hydrate and improve complexion without an oily or sticky after-feel.
4. Add a Layer of Protection
Sunnier days ahead means to increase the SPF of your sunscreen. Look for sunscreens with the SPF of 50 or more. In addition, products that offer multiple functions are great to use as the weather gets warmer. Not only does the Canmake Mermaid UV Gel contain a SPF of 50, it acts as a makeup base making it the perfect sunscreen for spring. Read the full review of HERE
